Music and Sound Design by Carl Boland. A Film by Ewan Jones-Morris.
The Immortal is an experimental re-imagining of Jose Luis Borges’ short story published in 1947. This narrated story mixes live-action footage, animation and back projections. The film was included as sound design case study in Carl Boland’s P.hD. thesis ‘A Sonic Arts Approach to Sound Design’.
The complex sound design was remixed several times. The two part video features the P.h.D (research) version of the soundtrack. More information about the research that supported the creation of the film’s sound design will be published soon.
